Susan Schlag, M.S., LMFT

Susan began her career as a therapist in a school based setting. From that experience blossomed a passion for early intervention, mental health and wellness for children and adolescents and trauma informed treatment.

 

Susan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Kansas. She received her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University – Dominguez Hills. Starting in 2007, she has obtained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in school based mental health and private practice settings. 

 

Another passion of Susan’s is supervising and mentoring other clinicians.  As the Clinical Director of THRIVE, Susan aims to ensure all THRIVE clinicians have the clinical support and training needed to provide the individualized quality therapy services every child deserves. She is a Trauma Focused-CBT certified supervisor and also trained in EMDR, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, MAP, Seeking Safety and AFCBT evidenced-based practice therapy models. Her areas of specialty include: working with Military families, adoptive/foster families, infant and early childhood mental health, life transitions, interpersonal relationships and trauma/PTSD.
